Brought to you by the letter A
By · May 31 2011Everything I’m wearing has a label on it that starts with the letter A. It was only a matter of time before I wore head-to-toe Ann Taylor on the blog. I could not get dressed without that place. My mom got me hooked from a young age. Speaking of my mom, she’s been blogging a lot about getting dressed and shopping while being blind. I found it absolutely fascinating. She often gets asked for fashion advice from her friends.
I wore this dress for a day when I wanted to look confident. Not over-the-top business, but confident.
By the way, working girls. Did you hear that there was this show called Oprah? And now it is over?
Apparently it is a big deal. But when you’re in an office all day, the 4 p.m. time slot just does not concern you.
My hair is getting so long these days that I don’t know just what I will do. It looks so silly short. Perhaps I will grow it until I can sit on it. I was always jealous of those girls in elementary school.
Nah. I’m over that drama. Oh girls from elementary school, why did I let you stress me out so? There are bigger fish to fry that feeling judged if I watched Sesame Street.
What’s funny is now I’m back to that point. Most of my friends watch Sesame Street with their toddlers. And I’m the one to not pass judgement.
Wow, I covered a lot in this post. More random than usual. Time to call it a day.
This skirt was a Chicago purchase. The baby blue belt was too. Oh, and my shoes survived. One trip to the cobbler, and while they are a half inch shorter than they once were, I think that is a good thing.
Wearing Ruffle button-up: Ann Taylor Bow Belt: Anthropologie Skirt: Ann Taylor LOFT Nude heels: Aldo I love these.

Life is scattered, like bobby pins in your bathroom drawer, no? Dance backwards in high heels with me. Let's talk clothes and news. I *love* clothes and news.

I love everything about what you are wearing! Its all very flattering and cute. If I had legs like yours I’d be wearing cute pencil skirts all the time. Thankfully in my job we get to wear scrubs. Gotta love work uniforms that hide the not so skinny parts haha.
Also Im a huge fan of ann taylor loft!

LOVE the outfit! Yea, Oprah is on at like 10 or 11 am here… so I never really watched it. I did see one episode when I had a vacation day from work about women’s bras, and how most women are not wearing the correct size bra because they have never been properly fitted for one. That is probably the only advice I have ever taken from Oprah. I RAN out that day and got fitted, and yep- I was WAAAAY off. That episode, seriously changed my life, but I’m not sad at all that Oprah is off the air now. One episode in 25 years (ok two- I DVR’d the royal wedding episode- which was lamo)? If I didn’t live in the Chicago area where it’s headline news, it wouldn’t have even been a blip on my radar.

I don’t think your hair would look silly short! Give it a go!

Maybe it wouldn’t now. I cut it short two years ago and looked about 10 years old! I hated it. My hair stylist even swears that she won’t cut it short for me. Isn’t that sad?
LOVE that outfit.
So you ended up cutting off some of the heel? And it still worked? I have a pair of pink pumps I would wear so much more often if they were 1/2 inch shorter but I’m scared that the angle of the shoe might be messed up if it were shortened. But I have a good cobbler – maybe I should take them there and see? Thanks for the thought!
So, the full story is that the plastic part of the heel came off and I thrashed the shoes wearing them around Petco Park at a Padres game. The cobbler shortened them. I think if you have a cobbler you trust, I would talk to them about it. I have heard of people getting Manolos and Louboutins shortened. I don’t know about the cost because the cobbler did it for free for me because it was his fault that they broke. (he’d just replaced the heel tips so they weren’t glued in right)
Long answer but I hope it helps!
Way cute outfit.
And keep your hair long. It’s pretty!
This outfit is really pretty on you. I love it! My mom is obsessed with Oprah, and is thinking about getting $75 able to watch the OWN channel.

THANK YOU! All this Oprah stuff… honestly, 4pm is the busiest time of my day most days. I was beginning to think I was the last American not tuning in every day.
You look beautiful. I don’t normally like long hair, but you look great wearing it

Love this outfit! You are so cute! And love the long hair. I’m thinking of growing mine out even longer too! And though I never really had time to watch Oprah, it still makes me sad that she’s not on the air anymore!! It was more of a feeling of comfort knowinggg that she’s there haha.
Oh girl that skirt is DIVINE! Love the look its so profesh and polished!
