Joining in on a challenge
By · Aug 16 2011It is weirdly cold lately. As if San Diego’s summer was being too perfect and a flashback from last year was required. Last year we only received two sunny days all summer long. This year I have a tan without even trying. So, since the summer has been good to me, I will take a week of cloudy days.
Besides, it was a good excuse to break out the purple jacket. And that opportunity made up for the super-de-duper frizzy hair I’ve been dealing with the past few days the coldish humidity brings. My stylist wants to give me a “mini-Keratin” treatment for just the front of my hair, but I’m not thinking it is necessary. I’m OK with frizz. I do need to get my hair done though. I swear, the longer it gets, the fast it grows.
I haven’t worn this skirt in over a year. When I wear it, people whisper that I look naked, because the underlining is nude. But you know what? I love it. It is lacy and feminine.
I’ve never been one for blog challenges, but when I saw my friend Katie link to the 21 Day Challenge, from Freckles in April, for some reason I got excited. I’m excited to meet new bloggers and play along. Everyday there is a new clothing challenge, and a link-up.
My mom is going to do it too. She loves to post her outfits, and since we are spending next week together, I thought it would be something fun to do together.
The first challenge was to pick an item to remix three times. I am choosing the orange jacket I wore on the blog yesterday. Today the challenge is something tucked in. What I realized is that I tuck everything in lately. I used to not be like that, but now, everything is tucked!

Life is scattered, like bobby pins in your bathroom drawer, no? Dance backwards in high heels with me. Let's talk clothes and news. I *love* clothes and news.

That. Skirt. Is. Gorgeous.
And I didn’t think you were naked under it. Just, ya know, FYI.
I love how you paired the purple and green together, and I am seriously in love with your shoes! They are perfect, from the nude colour to the slight point in the toe.
i love the plum & olive combination, it looks so beautiful with your hair.
I love the orange jacket. I love the skirt. You look fantastic!
I love the colors! Your skirt is super awesome.
nude, really? people are crazy….gorgeous and feminine and awesome! how fun to do the challenge with your mom, looking forward to the posts…i am going to be wearing my swimming suit for the next 14 days as much as possible and then i have to go back to teaching and the school year:)
This skirt is just gorgeous! The length and cut of it are perfection
I also like the purple jacket paired with this green shirt. A very nice contrast!
That outfit is perfect in every way! The plum is a great color on you and I can’t believe people say that about the skirt – they’re crazy.
Oh my word, I LOVE that skirt! And the green and purple combo is amazing. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Oh. And ps. it’s in the 90′s in GA today, so I’m slightly jealous of your cooler, blazer-wearing weather.
your color combo is gorgeous!
Your outfit is so pretty! I love the combination of colors. Sounds like a fun challenge! Good luck with it.
I love that skirt. The nude look is sexy, right? Kidding, but I think that skirt looks fun.
Ooo, I love the skirt! That’s a really great design in the lace.
My first thought when I looked at this was “I love that skirt.” You are clearly not nude, and the whole outfit is great. But a nude lining does give clothing kind of a gotcha quality, at first glance.
Pretty sure I’m just going to be jealous of your colors for the next three weeks! You have a real talent for picking bold colors that look fabulous on you. I can’t wait to see what you do for the color blocking challenge!
You are so sweet! Thanks! I am big into having certain colors that look good for a person, it is so important! That said, there are few colors I don’t wear, but I definitely have a lot more of certain shades than others!
Fabulous! The skirt, the top, the colors. Way to go!
That skirt is FANTASTIC. Especially with the nude heels and the color on top. Really well done!
Gasp!! My closet is color coordinated-I’m not sure I would be able to stand it otherwise! But your ‘fit is adorable so maybe I should do less ‘closet conscious’ because who knew that leopard and dots would work so well together!!
